Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon grill seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 8 slices sour dough bread

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees to toast the bread.
  • Shape beef into 4 thin patties.
  • Coat a large skillet with cooking spray. Over medium-high heat, add patties and cook 4 minutes on each side or until done.
  • In another skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion. Cook until translucent. Add garlic and mushrooms; sauté 3 minutes.
  • Add flour into mushroom mixture. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Stir in beef broth and cook until thick. Remove from heat.
  • Place bread slices on a baking sheet, spraying tops lightly with cooking spray. Bake for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Keep a close eye on so they don't burn.
  • When patties are almost done, top with cheese. Cook for 1 minute to melt cheese.
  • Place patties on a bread slice. Top with mushroom mixture and remaining bread slices.
This sandwich will melt in your mouth. The mushroom sauce adds just the right touch to the beef along with the melted cheese.
