Pumpkin Bread 206 Recipe

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 2/3 cup raisins (optional)
  • 2 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 pound pumpkin
  • 3 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup nuts
Grease two loaf pans. Cream shortening and sugar. Stir in eggs, pumpkin and water. Blend in flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in nuts and raisins. Bake until wooden pick comes out clean. Approximately 70 minutes at 350°.
