HEALTHY CHEESE AND VEGGIE QUICHE Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 cups half & half
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups finely grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onion.
Directions
Combine wheat germ, flour, and salt. Cut in margarine. Add egg. Blend well. Press mixture on bottom and sides of lightly buttered pie pan. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°. Combine 3 eggs, half and half, salt, thyme, pepper, cheese and green onion. Additional veggies or meats (mushrooms, peppers, broccoli, bacon, sausage, etc.) may also be added as desired. Pour in cheese filling. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes clean. Cool 5 minutes. One of our favorites!
