GRANDMA'S BREAD PUDDING 2 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf white bread or french bread
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 cups milk (2 cups skim - 2 cups whipping cream)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Sauce
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease 9 x 13 dish or pan. Beat eggs. Add vanilla, sugar and milk. Beat with a whip. Break bread. Pour mixture over bread. Push down to soak. Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter while baking. Mix 1 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons corn starch. Add 1 cup boiling water. Slow cook until thick. Remove from heat and add 1 stick butter and 2 tablespoons vanilla. Stil until butter melts. Cool. Pour sauce over pudding.
