Herbed Tomato Cheese Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups biscuit mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3 tomatoes, peeled and sliced (I use more) (medium)
  • 1 onion, chopped (medium)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasonings
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Paprika
Directions
Combine biscuit mix and milk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn out onto a floured surface; knead 3 or 4 times. Press into bottom and up sides of a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Top with tomato slices. Sauté onion in butter until Tender; stir in remaining ingredients except paprika. Spoon mixture over tomatoes, and sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes. Yield about 12 servings.
