Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup molasses (mild)
2 1/2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon Ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 cup hot water
Directions
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses. Mix well. Add dry ingredients. Slowly add hot water and beat until smooth. Bake 350° oven 40 minutes in a 9x13" pan sprayed with Pam. Do not over bake. Serve with whipped cream.
