Citrus Sauce for Angel Food Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons lemon peel
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip
Directions
Combine orange juice, egg and sugar together in saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 10 to 15 min. bringing it to a full boil. It should thicken up a little also. Remove from heat and cool completely. Fold in the Cool Whip. This is a refreshing topping for angel food cake along with fresh fruit such as strawberries, raspberries or blueberries.
