Directions
Grease the pan slightly and spread the ham and bread mixture over the bottom. Top with chasse. Mix together the eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pour over the bread, ham and cheese mixture. Melt the butter and pour this over the top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Uncover in the morning and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Crockpot version- Mix several hours before if possible and keep in the fridge. If started on low at midnight it will be ready between 7-8 a.m.
Container: 9 x 13 pan or a crock pot
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Ingredients
- 6 to 7 slices of bread, torn apart
- 4 to 6 eggs, depending on size
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1 package ham cubed (8 - 16 oz. depending on how meaty you want it) or the leftovers from another meal
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
