Mother's Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • Chopped garlic, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 can tomatoes (large can)
  • 2 cans tomato paste, 6 ounce.
  • lasagna noodles
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 cups ricotta or cream style cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese, grated
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown meat slowly, drain fat. Add next 5 ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally. Cook noodles in salted boiling water till tender. Drain and rinse. Beat eggs, add remaining ingredients, except mozzarella cheese. Layer half the noodles in 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Spread with half the cottage cheese filling, add half the mozzarella and half the meat sauce. Repeat. Bake for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
