Frikadeller (Danish Meatballs) Recipe

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 soup can milk
Mix all ingredients except soup and soup can of milk together and form into balls. Brown in hot fat. Place in a casserole dish and pour over soup and soup can of milk. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Note: I usually heat the soup and milk in the meat drippings before pouring over meatballs.
