Rolled Ginger Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • Yield: 5 dozen cookies
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 cup light molasses
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
Directions
Preheat oven to 375. Cream together the shortening and sugar. Add the egg, vinegar and molasses and mix well. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and ginger; add to the above mixture and stir well. Chill for one hour. Roll dough, cut into shapes and bake about 5 to 7 minutes.
