Ooey Gooey Butter Cake 5 Recipe

Ingredients
  • CRUST
  • 1 box yellow butter cake mix
  • 1 egg (large)
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • Filling
  • 1 package cream cheese, room temperature (8 oz pkg)
  • 2 eggs (Large)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 box confectioners sugar, plus little extra for dusting (16 ounce box)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly spray a 13x9x2 baking pan with non-stick spray. Crust: In a large bowl, combine cake mix, egg and melted butter. Mix well until all dry ingredients are moistened. Pat mixture lightly into prepared baking dish. Cover sides and bottom of pan with crust mixture.

Filling: In another large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until well blended. Beat in the melted butter until evenly blended. On low speed, gradually beat in the box of powdered sugar. Continue to beat until mixture is smooth.Spread the cream cheese mixture over crust in pan. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until sides are set and center is still a little jiggly. Remove from oven and cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar and cut into squares. Serves 20
