Basil Shrimp Pasta Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 8 ounces large shrimp
  • 1 cup fresh basil, cut in small pieces
  • 1 large tomato, cut in small pieces
  • Whole wheat pasta
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese(optional)

  • Pour the oil in a large skillet and sauté the garlic and red pepper flakes over medium heat until garlic turns brown.
  • Stir in the shrimp; and then add the basil and tomatoes.
  • Stir for a few minutes and cover.
  • When the shrimp is dark pink, remove from stove and serve over portion size whole wheat pasta.
  • Parmesan cheese may be added if desired.
