Buttermilk Brownies 5 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Margarine
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon burnt sugar flavoring
  • 1/4 teaspoon butter flavoring
  • Frosting
  • 1/2 cup Margarine
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon burnt sugar flavoring
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions
For brownies, put flour, sugar and cocoa in a small bowl. Put water, margarine and salad oil in sauce pan. Bring to boil. Pour this over dry ingredients and mix until well blended. Mix rest of ingredients. Pour into greased 11x18-inch sheet pan. Bake 20 minutes at 375°. For frosting, boil the margarine, cocoa and milk; then add the powdered sugar, vanilla, burnt sugar flavoring and blend together. Spread over cooled brownies.
