BUNKER HILL BROWN BREAD Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 cups buttermilk
Directions
Sift flour, soda, and salt. Stir in wheat germ, pecans, and cracker crumbs. Combine eggs, oil, molasses and milk. Add liquids to dry ingredients.

Stir until well blended. Put into two well greased 1 pound coffee cans.

Don't cover. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 -50 minutes. Cool in the cans for 10 minutes. Loosen the breads by running a knife around the can.

Slice and serve while hot.
