A good main dish for a hearty brunch--especially since most of the preparation can be done a day ahead of time.
Directions
Over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned on outside and no longer pink on inside. Drain excess grease. Cool and crumble.
In a large bowl, mix together milk, eggs, mustard, salt and pepper.
Cover the bottom of prepared baking dish with bread cubes. Sprinkle the crumbled sausage, shredded cheese, mushrooms, red peppers, green peppers and onions on top of bread.
Pour the egg mixture over the top of sausage mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night or at least 4 hours.
Preheat oven to 325°. Remove cover before baking. Bake 55-60 minutes, uncovered. Let stand 10-15 minutes before serving.
