Beef Shepherd Pie Recipe

Browned meat and vegetables are smothered in rich mashed potatoes for a quick throw together family dinner.
Beef Shepherd Pie Recipe (+)
Directions
Preheat oven 375º F.
In large skillet, brown ground beef, onions, and garlic. Add seasonings and cook until meat is no longer pink.
Add flour and continue cooking 1 to 2 minutes. Slowly add broth. Bring to a full boil, then reduce heat and simmer 8-10 minutes.
Stir in mixed vegetables and remove from heat. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour into baking dish.
Prepare instant potatoes according to package directions. Add butter and beaten egg to prepared potatoes. Spread potato mixture over meat mixture. Garnish with grated cheese and sprinkle paprika over top.
Bake 25 minutes or until cheese has melted and potatoes are a light golden brown.

1 cup beef broth

2 cups mixed frozen vegetables, drained

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

6 cups mashed potatoes, instant

2 teaspoons butter
salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten
-
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
