Strawberry Applesauce Salad Recipe

With only three ingredients, this is a very easy applesauce salad to prepare. It sets very firmly and holds its shape, and it can be served in individual salad molds or in one large mold.

  • 6 ounces strawberry Jell-O
  • 1 3/4 cups boiling water
  • 1 1/4 cups applesauce
  • 10 ounces frozen strawberries, partially thawed
  • Optional: lettuce leaves, mayonnaise, and citrus zest for garnish

  • Bring the water to a boil on the stovetop or in the microwave.
  • Pour the dry Jell-O powder into a large glass bowl, and carefully pour the boiling water over the Jell-O. Stir until completely dissolved; then let it stand for 5 minutes.
  • Add the applesauce and the partially thawed strawberries to the gelatin. Mix the ingredients; then refrigerate the mixture until firm (about 2 hours).
  • The salad may be served on lettuce leaves and topped with a dollop of mayonnaise. Garnish the salad with citrus zest.
