Mandarin Orange & Almonds Salad Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 head lettuce (or spinach or assorted greens)
  • 3/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 can mandarin oranges (drained) (11 ounce Can)
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onion
  • For Dressing
  • 1/4 cup Salad Oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 3 drops hot pepper sauce (Durkee Red Hot Cayenne Pepper Sauce)
Directions
1.) Fry 5-8 minutes the slivered almonds in sugar and spread on waxed paper to dry, put in jar.

2.) Break lettuce/spinach/greens into desired size pieces, add parsley, oranges and green onion, toss.

3.) Combine all dressing ingredients in a separate bowl, sprinkle over salad mixture or use serving bowl for dressing to be added at the table onto individual salads.
