Buffet Lasagna Recipe

  • 4 cans tomato sauce (8 ounce can)
  • 2 cans Italian style tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • Pinch baking soda
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 pound lasagna noodles
  • 2 onions (chopped)
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 1/8 pounds ricotta cheese
  • 1 pound Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
In large saucepan, combine first 7 ingredients.


In hot oil, sauté onion until lightly browned, add garlic and cook gently

Spoon off fat

Add beef and salt

Cook until meat loses color

Add to tomato mixture

Simmer uncovered 2 hours or until thickened

Cook lasagna noodles as directed on package

Heat oven to 350 degrees

In bottom of two 12x8x2 baking pans, place several spoonfuls of sauce

Top with crisscross layers of noodles

Add 1/2 of the ricotta cheese

Top with 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese and 1/2 the Parmesan cheese

Repeat ending with mozzerella cheese top of sauce

Bake uncovered 50 minutes
