Hobo Dinner Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 potatoes, sliced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • seasoned salt
  • black pepper

Preheat grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400 degrees. Take 4 rectangles of aluminum foil, large enough to create individual packets. Shape the ground beef into patties and place one on each piece of foil. Layer the vegetables on top. Season with salt and pepper and top with a pat of butter. Fold foil and seal edges. Bake for 45 minutes or until desired doneness.
Brings back memories of camping when I was a kid. Everybody got to create their own packet. We cooked them in the campfire, but a grill or the oven works just as good.

I put a 1/2 slice of bacon under the hamburger to keep the bottom of the burger from burning and it added extra flavor, along with a half of a packet of dry onion soup mix mixed into the burger."
