Blondie Brownie & Maple Butter Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • Brownies
  • 2 cups Flour, Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter (10 T.), melted
  • 1 1/2 cups packed golden brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten (large)
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • Sauce
  • 3/8 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/8 cup brown sugar
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 ounce pkg.)
  • 1/4 teaspoon maple extract or flavoring
Directions
BROWNIES: Preheat oven to 350°. In medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the chopped nuts; mix well and set aside. In separate bowl, mix the butter and brown sugar. Add the egg and the vanilla; blend well. Add in the flour mixture a little at a time, mixing well. Stir in the white chocolate chips. Spread into 9x9x2 inch pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean or with slightly fudgy-looking crumbs. Serve blondies warm with vanilla ice cream and Maple-Butter Sauce.

SAUCE: Combine the syrup and butter, then cook over low heat until the butter is melted. Stir in the brown sugar until dissolved. Remove this from heat and beat in the cream cheese and maple extract until smooth. Stir in the walnuts. Heat again over low heat to desired consistency. Serve over warm brownies with vanilla ice cream.
