$100 Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • Cake
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 4 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups flour (I use cake flour)
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Frosting
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 squares Bakers chocolate
  • 2/3 pound confectioners sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
Directions
To make cake: Cream butter and sugar until smooth, then add eggs and blend well. Melt chocolate and stir into mixture. Next add flour and milk alternately, a little at a time. Add vanilla and chopped nuts. Pour into loaf pan and bake at 350° for approximately 45 minutes. To make frosting: Melt butter and chocolate together. Carefully add egg, stirring constantly to prevent egg from cooking. Add sugar, vanilla and lemon juice and blend well. Fold in nuts. Spread on cooled cake.
