Puff Pastry Pillows 2 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 package frozen puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 - 2 T coarse or granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
Thaw puff pastry. Cut each pastry into thirds along the fold lines. Cut each third into 7 strips. (Total of 42)

Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Mix 1/4 cup milk and the egg together and lightly brush the tops of the pastries. Sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

In saucepan mix 1 cup milk and flour. Over medium heat, bring to a boil for 1 minute or until mixture thickens. Cool. Empty milk-flour mixture into mixing bowl. Add butter, sugar, salt and flavorings. Beat 10 minutes until light and airy. Split pastries in half. Put 1 Tablespoon of mixture on the bottom of each pastry and replace the top. Refrigerate.
