Beef Burgundy Recipe

Warm comfort food that is sure to please. Tender beef with the creamy sauce is perfect over egg noodles. Serve with a side salad.

  • 8 ounces beef , cut into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 whole clove
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons flour

  • In a Dutch oven, melt butter over medium high heat. Add beef, onion, salt and pepper; stir to brown on all sides, approximately 8-10 minutes.
  • Add garlic and mushrooms. Cook for 1 minute more. Add beef broth, water, bay leaf and clove. Bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook for 1 hour until beef is tender.
  • In a small bowl, combine remaining water and flour. Add to beef mix and bring to a boil. Stir until thickened.
