Chocolate Cobbler Recipe

  • 6 butter
  • 1 self-rising flour
  • 3/4 white sugar
  • 1 1/2 unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 milk
  • 1 vanilla extract
  • 1 white sugar
  • 1/4 unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 boiling water
  • vanilla ice cream
Container: 8- x 8-inch baking dish
  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  • Melt the butter in an 8- x 8-inch baking dish while the oven preheats.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa; then stir in the milk and vanilla until smooth.
  • Spoon the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish.
  • Stir together the remaining cup of sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa powder; then sprinkle this mixture over the batter.
  • Slowly pour the boiling water over the top.
  • Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven or until set. Serve slightly warm with ice cream.
