Swedish Pepparkakor (Gingersnaps) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons soda
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cloves
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
Cream shortening and sugar in a mixer. Add molasses and beaten egg. Mix all dry ingredients. Add gradually to mixture. Chill dough and roll into small balls; drop into a cup of sugar and place on greased cookie pan 2" apart. Bake 8-9 minutes at 350°. Cool.
