Mom's Ginger Snap Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 4 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix all ingredients together; chill dough for at least an hour.

Roll into balls. Roll balls in sugar and place onto cookie sheet. Gently press down on balls.

Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes.

A snappy cookie that is full of flavor. If you prefer a soft molasses cookies, add slice of bread to the container.
