Dissolve 2 cakes of yeast in 1/4 cup warm water iwth 1 tsp. sugar added. Set aside.
Scald 1 cup milk, add 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar. Cool. Add milk mixture to yeast mixture and add 1 tsp. salt, 2 beaten eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, and flour enough to make a soft dough. Let rise to double its size. Knead, adding flour until about 4-1/2 cups have been used in all. (Usually needs more than this.) Let rise again.
Roll thin and spread with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon. About 3 cups brown sugar, 1 cup chopped nuts, 2 cup chopped raisins, 1 tsp. salt and roll as you would a jelly roll. Cut almost thru roll at 2 inch intervals and turn on side. Let rise until double again.
Bake at 350°.
Spread with thin confection frosting and sprinkle with nuts, raisins or whatever meats your fancy.
