A crispy Scandinavian pastry that can be made for Christmas celebrations or anytime this delightful sweet treat is desired.

Directions
Heat lard to 400° in a large saucepan.
In a mixing bowl, beat the egg slightly.
Add the remaining ingredients to the egg and beat until smooth.
Heat the rosette iron in the hot lard.
Dip the iron in the batter approximately 2/3 full.
Place battered iron into the hot lard and fry until golden brown.
Scoop out rosettes and lay them out on paper towels to drain and cool.
Sprinkle with granulated or powdered sugar.
