Gourmet Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

  • 8 or 9 medium potatoes
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 pint half and half
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

  • Boil potatoes with skins on until barely tender. Cool overnight or several hrs.
  • Use a food processor or hand slicer to cut potatoes into thin slices (do not need to peel potatoes). Place in a buttered baking dish or pan (9x13).
  • Heat half and half, butter, and salt (do not boil); pour over potatoes.
  • Top with cheese. Bake 1 hr. at 350 degrees F.
Rich and delicious, these scalloped potatoes make a perfect side for any of your family meals. A nice side to chicken, fish, ham, beef, pork, or your favorite burger.

"I have been looking for a good scalloped potato recipe . . . and I found it. This was rich and delicious. If your baking dish is pretty full when making these you might want to set the pan on a cookie sheet. Mine boiled over! Other than that I loved these potatoes."
