Green Bean Casserole 64 Recipe

  • 1 pound Bacon
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced or an 8-oz can mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 pint half-and-half cream
  • 12 ounces sharp cheese, grated
  • 3 cans cut green beans, drained
  • 1 dash Tabasco
  • 2 teaspoons Soy Sauce
  • Salt/Pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can French fried onion rings (6 ounce can)
Fry bacon until crisp; drain on paper towels, reserving drippings.

Use bacon drippings to sauté onions and mushrooms. Add flour, mix well. Add cream and stir until it thickens. Add cheese and stir until smooth. Add remaining ingredients with the exception of the onion rings. Mix well.

In buttered 9x13x2 casserole, place the above mixture. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

Remove from oven and top with French Fried onions rings. Bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
