Homemade Hot Fudge Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons sweet butter
  • 1/3 cup boiling water
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 6 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Directions
Melt chocolate and butter on low heat in heavy saucepan. Carefully add boiling water when melted and stir well. Add sugar and syrup and stir until smooth. Turn up heat until it starts to boil. Maintain at just the boiling point for 9 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes then add vanilla. I find a good way to test this before you cool it is to pour a dab on ice cream. If it gets too hard, add more boiling water. If it is too runny, add more syrup.
