An herb, which is a perennial plant with long stemmed pinnate leaves that are almost round in shape with serrated edges. The leaves are picked before the plant flowers and are used fresh in salads, herb mixes and sauces. It has a refreshing, nutty flavor that resembles a cucumber. Salad burnet should be used fresh because it loses its flavor when cooked or dried.
