Mix ingredients lightly adding enough milk to blend. Do not over work!
Divide into fourth or fifths
Form in flat oblong shapes less than 3/4" thick
Dredge in flour, dip in eggs or egg beaters, then cracker crumb mixture (crushed crackers)
Brown in skillet with either 2 T or oil or butter, remove to covered dish which accommodates 4 or 5 pieces in a layer.
Bake covered for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
In left over fat in skillet sauté 1 onion sliced in rings either add flour and milk and thicken or, add 1 cup water, thicken with cornstarch mixture.
