Cheese Luncheon Loaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 5 slices buttered bread, cubed
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 3/4 pound grated or shredded cheddar cheese
  • dash of cayenne pepper
Directions
Place bread and cheese in buttered 9x13" casserole, in alternate layers. Mix eggs, milk and seasonings and pour over bread & cheese mixture. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. (May be longer). Ham (cubed) may be added to bread & cheese mixture before adding the eggs and milk. Bake 1 hour at 350°. Serve immediately. May be reheated. If ham is added, omit the salt.
