Fruit Cake 14 Recipe

Ingredients
  • Combine and let stand for a few minutes
  • 2 cups applesauce
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Mix together
  • 3 eggs,
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup melted butter and add to apple mix.
  • Add
  • 1 bottle vanilla flavoring (small bottle)
  • 1 bottle rum flavoring (small bottle)
  • Mix together & combine with apple mix
  • 4 cups flour, unsifted
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 cup dates
  • 1 package fruitcake mix
  • Maraschino cherries
Directions
Cover baking pans with brown paper on bottoms and sides. Grease paper. Bake 2 hrs. for medium-sized pans, 3 hrs, for tube pan and 1 1/3 hrs. for small loaves at 300°. Cool 12 to 24 hrs. before removing from pans. Makes 2 loaves. Store 10 days or more before serving.
