Fillo Apple Pecan Mini Strudels Recipe

Ingredients
  • 16 sheets of fillo dough
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 cups Rome apples, cored and sliced thin
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, allspice
  • 1 cup pecan pieces
Directions
Preheat oven to 350.

Place dough together. Cut into 4 squares and cover with damp cloth until ready to use. Melt butter. Place apples, spices and nuts in bowl and stir until apples and nuts all are covered.

Take dough, up to five sheets at a time, brush with butter. Place 1/4 cup apple filling 1 inch from edge; fold sides inward and roll till sealed. Brush with butter, repeat until you run out of dough and filling.

Bake for 25 minutes or until brown and flaky. Dip in melted chocolate if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
