Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Container: Cookie sheet
Directions

  • Cream the sugar and margarine in a large bowl.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla; then add the dry ingredients.
  • Roll the dough into small balls; then roll in sugar and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Flatten each cookie with a glass dipped in sugar.
  • Bake at 375ºF for 8-10 minutes.
  • Cool the cookies on wire racks.
