English Muffins Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 4 cups warm water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 11 - 12 cup flour
Directions
Add yeast to warm water and mix well. Add sugar, salt and oil and mix well. Add 3 cups of the flour and mix. add the remaining flour and stir until the dough forms a ball and leaves the sides of the bowl. Roll the dough with a rolling pin to about 1/2". Cut with a 3 - 4 inch round cutter. Place on cookie sheet which has been sprinkled with corn meal, keeping muffins apart. cover and let rise until doubled. Heat electric griddle to 350, generously sprinkle with corn meal. Remove muffin with spatula and place on griddle. Cook 6 minutes each side
