Cajun Fried Okra Recipe

  • 1 pound okra pods
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • vegetable oil
Rinse the okra and pat dry. Remove any tops from the stems, being careful not to cut into the pod. Beat the eggs and milk together well; in a separate bowl, combine the bread crumbs and seasoning. Heat 1 inch of oil in a heavy sauce pan or deep skillet. Dip the okra into the egg mixture and then the crumbs, coating well. Fry okra in the hot oil until light brown, crisp and tender. Drain and serve.
