Chow Chow 8 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 cups green beans
  • 3 cups Lima beans
  • 2 cups kidney beans (canned)
  • 2 cups peppers
  • 2 cups celery
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 3 quarts cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons mustard seed
  • 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
  • 2 cups carrots
  • 3 cups corn
  • 2 cups great northern beans (canned)
  • 2 cups onions, chopped
  • 2 cups pickles
  • 5 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons celery seed
  • 2 tablespoons Ground Mustard
Directions
Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add green beans, Lima beans and carrots. Cook for 5-8 minutes. Drain. Return vegetables to pot and mix in all other vegetables. Heat vinegar in saucepan to a boil. Add seasonings. Pour over vegetables. Mix in large pot and bring to a boil. Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pack vegetables and liquid into jars leaving a 1/4" head-space. Remove air bubbles. Process in hot water bath for 15 minutes.
