Quick Tips & Ideas

Quick Freeze Blueberries

It is easy to freeze blueberries when they are in season so that you can use them in your favorite blueberry recipes throughout the rest of the year. Just go thru them and discard any damaged or blemished berries. Do not wash the blueberries before freezing. Spread them out in a single layer on a cookie sheet and place them in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours, or until frozen. Once they are frozen, place the blueberries in a sealable freezer bag and place them back into the freezer as soon as possible. Freezing them individually first will keep them separated when stored in the freezer in a bag. This will allow you to take out just what you need for your recipe rather than having to thaw the entire bag.
