Some of the typical ingredients in this soup include kidney or navy beans and pieces of smoked bacon (or smoke flavoring added) cooked in a ham stock. Homemade recipes for Bean and Bacon Soup may also include bits of tomatoes, onions, celery, and potatoes combined with various seasonings.
