White Chocolate

A type of chocolate product that is white in color and is made with cocoa butter, sugar, milk, and a bit of vanilla extract. White chocolate does not contain cocoa solids so it really isn't a true chocolate, but it is called white chocolate because it contains cocoa butter. To be considered a true white chocolate, this sweet must contain a minimum of 20% cocoa butter by weight, however there are many products advertised as "white chocolate" that do not actually contain the required minimum of 20% cocoa butter. Available as bars of chocolate, morsels, or chips, white chocolate is used in a number of sweet dishes and desserts and is popular as a coating for pretzels and nuts.
