Boiled Mackerel or Mackerel Preserves Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds mackerel, cleaned and washed, cut into mid-sized chunks
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sunflower oil

  • Put the fish into the clay saucepan. Season the fish and stir it.
  • Add water and sunflower oil. Put the saucepan on a medium heat and boil for 2 hours.
TIP: You can fillet the fish or leave it as is and just chop it with bones.
