Canned Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

This rich homemade spaghetti sauce cannot be compared to the jarred kind. This sauce is delicious and so easy, you'll never buy it at the store again.

  • 1 1/2 cups onion, diced
  • 8 cups tomatoes, peeled, chopped
  • 6 tablespoons oil
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 4 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 teaspoons oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons basil
  • Cook onions until soft.
  • Add rest of the ingredients and simmer for 2 hours on low, stirring often.
  • Fill quart or pint jars. Give hot water bath for 10 minutes.
  • Take jars out, place on towels and cover to seal. Let cool.
