Fried Green Tomatoes 46 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 green tomatoes (large)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup corn meal
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • vegetable oil
Directions
Slice tomatoes 1/4" thick. Keep an iron skillet well oiled on medium heat. Mix flour and corn meal. Dip each slice of tomato in the egg. Roll it in flour/corn meal mixture, so that it is well covered on each side. Salt and pepper each side. Fry in vegetable oil, until it is golden brown on each side. Drain excess oil, by placing fried tomato on paper towel.
