Lentil Vegetable Soup with Bacon Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups lentils, pre-soaked and drained
5 cups water
2 slices bacon, diced
1 onion, chopped (large)
1 cup carrots, peeled and diced
3 stalks celery with tops, sliced thin
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1 pound canned tomatoes
Directions
Place all ingredients into a large dutch oven and cook over medium heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
