CHEESE DREAMS (for toothpick hors d'oeuvres) Recipe

  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 loaf unsliced sandwich bread
  • 2 eggs whites (stiffly beaten)
Soften first three ingredients and combine thoroughly. Fold in beaten egg whites. Use electric knife to remove crust from bread and cut the loaf in small cubes. Cover with egg mixture. Bake at 400 for 6-7 minutes or until crusty, brown and bubbly. Trays can be made ahead and tucked in freezer and baked right before serving.
